Although this book was written many years ago when Bill Farlow and I were each only a few years into full-time RVing, most of it is still valid today. I would say the only areas that have fallen behind are in the electronics area. At the time the book was written, cell phones were not nearly as prominent as they are today. We relied mostly on telephone message services through FMCA or Escapees, etc. E-mail, Wi-Fi, and GPS were still wandering in the great beyond.

However, in the areas of full-timing relationships, traveling, hobbies, insurance, volunteering, working, packing tips, expenses, driving techniques, safety, campgrounds, boondocking, and a whole lot of other "stuff," the book can be very helpful.

I haven’t decided whether you are fortunate to have all these modern electronics or not. Our lives were simple and fun and we didn’t feel the need to connect with “home” and the kids and relatives every time we turned around. Perhaps the title of the book tells it all because for us, it was truly “Freedom Unlimited.”

2007 found me flying and RV renting in Alaska for four weeks; otherwise, I didn’t travel much. Hopefully, 2008 will find me back on the road again as spring flowers bloom in the mountain clefts, and maybe, just maybe, next winter I’ll follow that narrow road back into Baja.
