This "How-to" book begins with vehicle and mental preparation, map information, where-to-stay, when-to-go, what-to-take, and road conditions. Practical suggestions continue throughout the book regarding safety, vehicle breakdowns, and boondocking. She guides you beyond the "How to" to the "Why-not" by taking you with her on flying visits to outlying Eskimo villages, driving the Dempster to Inuvik and the Dalton to the Arctic Ocean.
